With this new initiative, the province is all set to provide another 2,500 megawatts of green energy to power 600,000 homes. This initiative of the Ontario’s government is considered to be a biggest green energy deal of its kind in the history of Canada. These contracts are in addition to 510 medium-sized green projects that have got approval earlier this year. Few months back, the government also struck a deal with Samsung for $7 billion renewable equipment supply. All these contracts reflect the Government’s commitment to boost green energy industry. Thousands of Clean Energy Jobs As per Brad Duguid, minister for energy and infrastructure, the two sets of projects will create 20,000 direct and indirect clean energy jobs, as well as billion dollars of investment into the Ontario’s renewable energy industry. Again, the province’s rules require the green power manufacturer’s to source at least 60 percent of its equipment in Ontario. This also helps to yield more new green energy jobs in Ontario. Rooftop Solar Power Installations The Ontario Government’s green energy policies have turned rooftop solar power installations into money-minters. This caused a mad rush to acquire the rights to roofs across the province. For electricity generated by rooftop solar panels, Ontario fixed the price to pay at 80.2 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh) under feed-in-tariff program. The government ensures this price for next 20 years. This raised the demand for solar panel installations. Right Time to Join A “Solar Panel Installation” Training Course The Government’s policy to phase out coal-powered generation and in-turn to replace them with renewable energy facilities within next few years is creating new hope to “Green Energy Jobs”. Recurrent Energy, a San Francisco based solar energy company bagged a contract to build several photovoltaic farms in Ontario and is about to source 60 percent of its equipments in Ontario. There will be a tremendous demand for solar panel installers. Now, this is the right time to join Solar Panel Installation Training Program. |
